New Shop, New Stock but no New Road.... Yet!

Well as promised after moving we have brought in a whole lot of new stock. After quite a few discussions around Kaiser ranges, we have purchased a wide range of new Kaiser products including their beautiful paper flowers, sparklets, collectables, clear stamps and papers. There are some very nice offerings in this months free Kaiser workshop booklet too which are winging there way into store as I type.

Lots and lots of new clear stamps in both wordings and images.

And look at these lovely detailed flowers in a gorgeous range of colours that co-ordinate with many Kaiser papers.

Kaisers new collectables are proving to be extremely popular. They are pre-printed die-cut shapes with match with current paper collections.

And we've added more sparklet colours along with the very popular heart sparklets.

We also have an extended range of the fantastic I-Rock with teardrops, hot rocks and more plus we have the I-Rock too back in stock.

Some more albums to suit a range of tastes and budgets have come into stock too. Both the popular ring bound and the original post bond albums are available in a range of colours and styles.

And we have finally got our vast range of Coredination cardstock onto the shop floor. This cardstock is perfect for tearing, sanding, embossing or just using as is and comes in a beautiful range of colours with the core of each card being a contrasting colour that shows up when the surface is torn or sanded. It adds a lovely look to any project.

Look at all these Cordination colours! So much choice!

The down side is that we currently still have no road frontage so just park in the Stuart St carpark opposite and either walk around or take your chances crossing the road. Hopefully in the not too distant you will all be rewarded with easy, close parking. We are looking forward to that too.

The title says it all! Now that the pain of moving our shop has receded into the distance a bit, I have been able to collect my thoughts and put together some classes for Feb & March. You can see the new class list if you click the link to the right!

Also to let you know that our road frontage has currently been KILLED and slowly being revived! Yes it was here that the 24,000 pair telephone cable was severed (in case you were affected by that!). Access is a bit awful at the moment but we will soon be rewarded with a new two way road and (so I'm told) traffic lights on the corner of Stuart St and Spencer Sts by the end of the year!

For those intrepid travelers who have come to visit us in our new premise, it's been a pleasure welcoming you all and we hope to see more once our road is in top repair!

Stampers Den and South West Rubber Stamps is on the Move!

The time has come for Stampers Den to up sticks and move house! We are moving to a bigger unit at 9B Staurt Street in Bunbury.

For those for you who know Bunbury (even those who don't really know Bunbury too) finding us will be easy.

Traveling down Blair Street towards the centre of town, just turn left at the traffic lights opposite Bunnings. Travel over Bourke Street and you will see us on the left. EASY.

Here is a map that might help you if my directions have left you confused.

Dusty Attic Chipboard and MDF Products

After attending camp where we got to use some really gorgeous Dusty Attic products, we've decided to put some into stock here at Stampers Den. If you haven't seen Dusty Attic products yet, they are really detailed and beautifully designed laser cut chipboard embellishments and MDF products. We have in stock some lovely windmills and gates (just the thing for an Australian travel page or a present overseas) as well as some beautiful frames and shadow boxes. These might just be the perfect Christmas gift a loved one. A special photo or item in a shadow box lovingly created and embellished by you!

Bo Bunny Enchanted - Black & White Magentic White Board

At a recent Stampy Camp, one of projects was to make a magnetic white board marker. We were supplied with some paper for this project but not quite liking the colour scheme, I took advantage of the fact that I had in my hot little hands a supply of the absolutely magnificent Bo Bunny Enchanted Range.

After just a little bit of fussy cutting (OK quite a lot of very, very, fussy cutting) and pasting I was pretty happy with the final result. The large flourish on the right is cut from the "Enchanted" paper with the pillars coming from the "Enchanted Cut Outs" and the background paper, "Enchanted Rose".

The paper flowers were simple cut from white Bazzill cardstock and inked with Black Soot Distress Ink and finished with a pearl.

The finished 12x12 was then layed onto a 12x12 self-adhesive magnetic sheet and presto, a gorgeous white memo board. Just the thing for the front of our fridge (or in this case the front of our classroom cupboard door!).

Tim Holtz Fall 2011 Distress Ink Pads and Distress Stains Now in Stock

Sooooo excited that the brand new Fall 2011 Distress Ink Pad sets are now in stock. I managed to get my hands on my personal set a little while ago and I can say that the colours are gorgeous. These pads come packed in a set of 3, they do not have re-inkers and are available as a one off production only, although the word is that they might be re-produced for Fall 2012 (U.S. fall of course).

We have only secured a small number of these sets and I think they will go very fast so come in to get your set today.

We have also got a complete range of Distress Stains in stock. Including the new white Picket Fence colour. If you haven't seen these in action, check out Tim Holtz website. These little beauties make ink washing a breeze and are just the thing to use on Kraft Resist or Glazed Bazzill prints.

We'll be including them in our next Distress Inks course so you will have a chance at playing with them here in the future.

The last bit of news is that we have now completely restocked our Copic markers so if you were looking for a Ciao colour we are bound to have it here.

Imaginisce i-rocks in stock now!

We have recently taken delivery of some of the fabulous i-rock tools and i-rock heat set bling sets and if you are one of the lucky people booked into Chloe's Ocean Layout workshop, you'll have the chance to win an i-rock tool and i-rock stencil kit all of your own.

Flowers and Fun - Flower Techniques

Thanks to Chloe for this post! All the flowers you ever wanted to make and more! And a technique sheet for those who attended Chloe's workshop here at Stampers Den.

This post is for all the gorgeous ladies who attended my first (and second!) workshop at the Stampers Den, detailing each flower we made.

And for my bloggy buddies...

this is a set of flowers that you should

TRY before you DIE...cut. Lol.

**********************************************

Lollypop flower

Cut different circles in different colours, layer and glue layers together. Finish off with a button. Here is a print and cut template for those without a cricut. These look great cut by hand too.

For something different: Try distressing, inking or curling the edges slightly. Use different textures for different layers. Use faux stitching around the edge of every second layer.

******************************************************

Crochet Flower

Choose a 15-20 cm piece of crochet ribbon or lace. Looks best with a scalloped edge.

Thread the needle through the start a few times and wind in and out flat edge of ribbon. Pull tight and form into a circle shape. Sew a few stitches to hold it in place. Add an embellishment.

Sequin Ribbon Flower

Find the metallic ribbon off-cuts to sequin shaping.

Trim pieces with small scissors into the shape of a flower. Use clear double sided tape to affix. Looks great with small hot fix gems inside each section.

Try: Layering different and same configurations/sizes.

********************************************************

Rolled flower

Take a strip of lightweight paper 8cm x 30cm.

Roll into a long tube. Use double sided tape to adhere. Scrunch up the roll a few times, even run some ink along one crinkly edge. Now using a small foam square, roll into a rosette shape starting from the middle.

For Rolled Ribbon Flowers

Cut a 25cm length of ribbon. Tie a knot in one end. Place between two small pieces of off cut cardboard and hold securely with your thumb and index.

Wrap ribbon round the inside twisting every so often while squeezing cardboard together. When ribbon is finished wrapping, carefully slide onto a large square piece of foam and trim edges. Try: Inking the ribbon in rainbow fashion with a mix of colours before rolling.

For a great photo edger, cut a large flower in half and give it a lift with ink or stickles.

Try: Embossing a large hand cut flower

Washi Tape Flower

Use washi tape, circling it on a small circle of paper and pleating it round and round. Easy Peasy!

Reverse Emboss Flower

This makes a clever play on the eyes, as some of the paper is embossed but it is on a flat surface. Turn the page over, draw a shape, then place the indented part of the emboss folder underneath and use a stylus to gently rub the pattern only in that desired shape area. Turn the layout the right side up, ink gently over the raised embossed parts and hand draw an outline.

Large Tag Flower

Cut ten tall tag shapes.

If you have a tag punch, punch then trim off side edges to make a tall tag. Looks great with hole in the end too.

Curl and fold each petal and fix onto a square piece of foam. Add bling in the middle.

Try: Inking, curling, distressing edges.

Adding more smaller layers.

Small Tag Flower

Cut ten short tag shapes.

If you have a tag punch, punch then trim off side edges and some of the base.

Snip a slot in each petal about half way up.

Fold each petal and fix with a dab of fast drying glue.

Make the 5 outer petals more loose and tighten the overlap on the inner petals. Fix onto a square piece of foam.

Add bling in the middle.

Try: Inking, curling, distressing edges.

Actetate Flower

For an effective subtle flower, punch some flowers out of acetate/acrylic/plastic overhead sheets then use STAZON colours to ink lightly around edges. Use a clear double sided tape to affix and place a brad/CANDi in the centre.

Try: Embossing the flower shapes with cuttlebug before fixing together.

Paper Stamped Flower

Stamp white paper flowers with STAZON and ink in desired colours. Layer as wanted. Fix together with brad.

Pinched Circle Flower

Cut five or six circles.

Pinch each circle an an edge and

layer pinched shapes onto foam square.

To add a large circle bling or button, snip into centre joins.

Try: Layering over under, layer side together. Try shaping end of petals with scissors into a rounded point and colouring like a frangipani. Distressing, sanding, mixing colour patterns.

Acetate and Paper mix

Stamp a small square of acrylic with a favourite roundish stamp, sentiment. Trim acrylic sheet and then place on top of paper flower with double sided clear tape.

Tubular Flowers

Roll small tubes of thin paper up, adhere with a strip of double sided tape, centre on a foam square and then trim to correct size. Try: Layering, adding brads, different shapes.

Teased Ribbon Flower

Teased out ribbon and hand made brad using i-top. Use lengths of raffia tied in the centre and then frayed out, trimmed to form a circle shape, add brad.

Peekaboo photo flower

Draw a circle, cut an inner circle and fray, rip or cut to the edges all the way around. Then curl back pieces to reveal a photo underneath.

Layering Different Flowers

Choose a variety of flower cuts, layer in contrasting colours and then add some Dimensional Magic or Glossy Accents for lift and sheen.

Well I did think this workshop would be very popular and I was right. We now have room for only one more in Chloe's workshop. The fantastic news is that Chloe has agreed to run the exact same workshop on the same day (Friday 2nd September) except from 1pm to 3pm. Gosh she'll be busy!

I recommend that if you were thinking of booking into this fantastic workshop, do so very soon as places are filling extremely fast.

And just to recap, Chloe's workshop is all about "Flowers and Fun" as the name suggests. You get to make this fabulous layout (bring 4-5 suitable photo's) and learn how to make all the flowers as shown.

All I can say is that I wish I didn't have to mind the shop.......

Where do I start???

Firstly I'm very excited that Chloe Hill will be running some Scrapbook Workshops (she calls them funshops!) showcasing some of her fabulous techniques. I've been following Chloe's blog for some time and I can honestly say she is one creative and artistic lady and I really looking forward to seeing what she has to share with us. Also, we had so much fun at our Christmas Cards in July Class that I'm planning a couple more afternoon workshops one playing with Tim Holtz stuff, old & new, and making some really cool Tim Holtzified cards. Also another Christmas Card session "Holy Sh*t it's Almost Christmas". Making some more Christmas Cards and enjoying another afternoon of crafting.

Have a look at some of the cards we made in our Christmas Card in July workshop. Keep your eyes peeled for new workshop dates and remember these book out super fast so book quickly.

Other news is that Christmas supplies are starting to come back into the store. We have just taken delivery of some great Stamp-It stamps from their new range "Deck the Halls". Come in for a look or browse the in-store catalogue.

We are also planning a Spring Card Challenge. This little competition will be judged on the 30th September to give you a bit of time for those creative juices to flow. So we invite anyone to bring in a Spring themed card by the 29th September (cards will be on display until the judging date and 1 week following). The winner will receive a great prize pack including rub-ons, an alpha set, paper and other goodies. So get those creative minds working!

Martha Stewart Punches and more papers.

Well it's been a little while posting but we've been a bit busy with Wedding Invitations. Still, things have been happening in-store none the less.

We have a new batch of beautiful Martha Stewart punches just come in. These really are lovely and quite unique punches and we have the butterfly trim, birds on a wire border, seashells border, a small range of the punch and stamp sets and many others to choose from so come in an have a look but be quick as these punches do tend to go quickly.

We have also restocked on the Curio range of papers from Basic Grey. These have been super popular because of their beautiful and unique flower patterns. Come in and have a look at one of the cards our Christmas Cards in July participants got to make from one of these magnificent papers.

We also have a few other new papers too. Paper Loft, Sassafrass Lass to name a few.

Also a big thank you to all the ladies who came along to our Christmas Cards in July Class. We had fun and got an early start on some Christmas Card production. The Saturday afternoon class was so popular that we have decided to run a few more in the future so keep your eyes peeled on our Class Schedule (see the link to the right!).

I have to apologise to those of you who have been waiting for the new class schedule to be posted up! I didn't hit "publish post" and have only just realized that it didn't go up....

If you haven't played with Distress Inks previously, I would highly recommend having a go during our Distress Inks course. These inks are so beautiful to use and so very versatile. They are not just for creating aged pieces either and work well for sponging, embossing and much more. Book in and explore Distress Inks with us!

Accordion Cards should be a fun class as well, allowing you to take home some cards with a difference - just as the class title says!

Martha Stewart Punch Sets

After a few questions regarding Martha Stewart Punches I've decided to get a small stock of these very impressive punches.

I now have a number of Punch and Stamp sets, Punch around the Page sets and Deep and Double Edge Punches. They are certainly quite different to other punches available and will bring a new dimension to any scrapbook or card.

May Kaiser Release - OMG it's gorgeous!

Well I was convinced to order a sample pack from the up coming Kaisercraft May release collections - Party Animals and Chapter One and boy am I glad I was! These 2 new releases are a couple of the cutest and most beautiful releases that Kaiser have put out in a while.

I'm absolutely in LOVE with the Chapter One range and all the co-ordinating products makes making beautiful cards a breeze. Here are a couple of cards that I put together in record time using Kaiser's Chapter One release - papers, printed chipboard pieces, rub-ons, a die cut piece and journal tags. They all co-ordinate sooooooo magnificently and make for really stunning cards.

The second May release is Party Animals. An absolute must for scrappers and card makers catering for the younger generation. It contains the cutest of animal prints in papers, rub-ons, clear stamps and chipboard pieces. Again I put together 2 quick cards using this range. I've used papers, 2 of the clear stamps and a die cut piece from the paper pad of this range. So easy and such a cute result. In fact I made a second of the card on the right and gave it to my husband with an extra "0" for his 40th Birthday! Very cute!!!

Both of these new ranges are due in store any day now and there is a nice selection of the papers, clear stamps and other items to have a look at.

New Classes and More New Stock

Well another class schedule has been posted so go and have a look.

Because the Cuttlebug Class was so popular and booked out almost instantly, we've scheduled another for this coming class session. If you have a cuttlebug and you have been limited to using your embossing folders and little else, then this is the class for you. We'll teach you how versatile the Cuttlebug really is and I'll bet that some of those obscure old craft supplies that have been neglected for some time, get brought out into the light again!

I've also had some requests for Martha Stewart Punches and after some searching have located a supplier. So in the very near future we will have some Martha Steward Deep Edge Punches, some Punch Around the Page sets and some Punch & Stamp Sets available.

Also due to hit very soon are 2 new Kaisercraft paper collections and a resupply of Basic Grey papers.

The latest Bo Bunny paper ranges - Timeless, Gabrielle and Vicki B have been very popular with a really lovely range of matching embellishment that have been running out of the door. We have a small number of these left so don't miss out.

Stampers Anonymous Shipment & Bo Bunny Papers

Chipboard Embellishments Gone Crazy!

Well I've spent the last 2 days rearranging the store a little to accomodate more of the amazing chipboard embellishments from Scrap FX. We now have a HUGE restocked range of wordlets, wordlet theme packs and different embellishments perfect for your layouts or cards.

There are embellishments to suit every occasion. Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Camping, At the beach, In the park, trains, trucks, flowers, birds and the list goes on. So much choice!

I've had a few comments about reduced 12" x 12" paper ranges as there are a few racks looking decidedly empty. Don't be fooled however! Because I can't deal with too much chaos (I create quite enough myself), I have arranged all our paper in brand order, eliminating the false "full look" that was achieved by filling empty spots with the reverse side of double sided papers. In fact this has allowed me to see exactly how much space I have for new ranges and we have so far had over 6 new paper ranges from different brands come into the store.

We will always have new papers coming into the store on a regular basis. And this month is no exception. We have just got hold a some papers from the new pebbles range. Lovely glittery patterns of castles and roses that have already been walking out of the door.

As well as this, we have a new Bo Bunny order due to hit the store any day now. If you've used Bo Bunny papers before you'll know that they are a high quality paper with beautiful ranges and the new ones should be no exception. Along with these we have matching embellishments and rub-ons on their way.

New Classes and New Stock!

Well our first run of classes for card making have finished and thanks to everyone who booked in - I know I had a blast and hopefully you did too!

Over the next couple of months we have a couple of new classes scheduled as well as the return of our Copic Marker Madness class - by popular demand for those who missed out on the previous class. Feedback from the class was very positive with everyone enjoying learning more about these talented and multipurpose markers!

Heidi Pringle has tweeked her class outline too. She will now accomodate ANYONE of ANY standard on Wednesday from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Limiting the numbers means that she can give everyone one on one tuition and attention but it does mean that you have to book your place for whichever Wednesdays you want to attend.

Other news is that we have a large range of Spellbinder Nestabilities and Shapeabilities in store now and we are expecting our next delivery of Cuttlebug embossing folders and embossing plus folders. Just the thing to experiment with during our Cuttlebug class!

Soon we are expecting some of the brand new Kaisercraft papers and embellishments in their new ranges and we already have the Magic Happens and Secret Bird Society ranges in store. They are gorgeous and offer options for both card makers and scrapbookers alike.

We have also restocked on 3D Gold and Silver stickers in the usual favourites plus a few different ones. Plus we have a large stock of stickers and "thickers" in store now. Come in and have a browse.

New Copic Ciao Colours in Now!!!!!

How exciting!!!!! The new colour range from Copic has just hit the store. We now have in stock a brand new range of 36 Copic Ciao colours.

Well we have had a new year stock purchasing frenzy and have lots of new stock including a big range of Spellbinder Nestability Dies. All the favourites like circles, squares and ovals as well as hearts, scolloped shapes and some beautiful cut and emboss shapabilities and borderabilities.

We also have the new range of Kaisercraft papers and matching embellishments. Magic Happens is full of beautiful fairies and castles and comes with matching journal tags and even a 6x6 paper pad that has all the papers in miniature along with some diecut tags.

Secret Bird Society, another new release from Kaisercraft is full of birds, nature, tags, scripts and more. Definitely a good one for card makers and scrapbook nuts alike.

We also have new stickers and other bits and pieces to have a scrounge through.

A New Era at Stampers Den

Now that the dust has settled and we have some brain space to spare for this blog, we'd like to introduce ourselves!

You may or may not know that Clark and Karen have decided to pursue other challenges and have sold Stampers Den to two lucky people - US! So now your Stampers Den hosts are Grant and Gina House and we hope to get to know all the past customers of Clark and Karen and maybe meet some new ones too.

We will continue to stock Bunbury's largest range of scrapbooking, card making and specialty invitation papers and will do our utmost to provide service and advice to everyone.

At the moment we are expecting a new range of 3 Bugs Christmas papers due any day now as well as some of the beautiful Bo Bunny range already in stock and going out of the door fast. And especially for the card markers we have 2 beautiful white frosted Annie P A4 Christmas papers come in and check them out.

Also for those wanting some class action! We will be holding both card making and scrapbooking classes in the new year. Keep a look out on the class schedule page for exact dates. We do currently have openings for our new Saturday Social Sessions. This is a free of charge, bring your own supplies and equipment and have a relaxing social Saturday afternoon sharing ideas in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.
